Are you an organised, proactive colleague who is passionate about inclusion and enjoys bringing people, plans and information together to deliver meaningful impact? We are inviting applications for the role of Project Officer – Wellbeing.
The Youth Sport Trust is committed to improving young people’s lives through sport. We harness the power of physical education, physical activity and sport to unlock potential, support wellbeing, and create more equitable opportunities for every young person.
As Project Officer – Wellbeing, you will provide programme support and coordination across a range of important, long-term projects. You will work closely with our Wellbeing Team of Programme Managers, who support programmes focused on the health, wellbeing and development of young people from early years through to adolescence.
Programmes you may support include Healthy Movers, which aims to improve children’s physical development in the early years; Active in Mind, which supports the prevention of mental health issues during adolescence; and Boys Move, which equips educators with principles and approaches to help address the mental health, behaviour and wellbeing needs of adolescent boys.
Working closely with Project Officers, Programme Managers and colleagues across the organisation, you will help to plan, coordinate and monitor activity to ensure programmes are delivered effectively on time and within budget. You will develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, coordinate project reporting and support the evaluation of programme impact. You will also help to develop and improve systems, processes and ways of working to support efficient and effective programme delivery.
With knowledge of project management, you will be confident coordinating multiple activities, priorities and deadlines and working with a range of external partners. You will understand the importance of safeguarding when working with children, young people and adults and be comfortable using data and management information systems to monitor activity and produce high-quality reports. Experience of supporting budgets and financial information will also be important.
On a personal level, you will be self-motivated, proactive and quick to resolve problems. Highly organised and with strong attention to detail, you will be able to respond effectively to changing requirements and deadlines while building positive relationships with colleagues and partners.
If you are excited by the opportunity to contribute to work that is helping to make PE and school sport more inclusive and accessible for every child and young person, we'd love to hear from you.
