Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Impact Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) can demonstrate the impact of its work to a wide range of stakeholders including staff, trustees, funders and the communities in which the YCF operates.
You will therefore lead on the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all recreational cricket and community programmes and strategic initiatives, using data to demonstrate the social impact of cricket. The Impact Manager will ensure that programmes (e.g. Wicketz, Women & Girls, Disability) are delivering positive change, meeting funding requirements and improving lives through the power of cricket.
As such, you will be responsible for data analysis and using databases to manage both our internal programme data and externally funded programmes, harnessing the power of data and insight to deliver compelling storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Impact Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL):
- Design and implement Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) frameworks to track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) for diverse community programmes.
- Design and implement primary data collection tools and analyse relevant secondary data sources.
- Analyse and interpret data from various sources (surveys, attendance registers, stakeholder interviews).
- Translate evaluation findings into actionable learning that informs organisational strategy, practice and future programme development.
- Collate, verify and store data in line with GDPR and organisational requirements.
Reporting & Storytelling:
- Produce, write and present compelling, high-quality impact reports for the Board of Trustees, funders and partners.
- Develop a portfolio of case studies, testimonials and photographic evidence to showcase the human impact of the foundation's work.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to disseminate impact findings through digital channels and annual reviews.
Strategy & Development:
- Work closely with senior leadership to shape and refine the Foundation’s strategy based on data insights.
- Identify new areas for research and evaluation to continuously improve programme effectiveness.
Fundraising Support:
- Provide data and evidence for funding bids to trusts, foundations and public sector partners to demonstrate a track record of success.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, ensuring they are engaged with the impact findings.
- Train delivery staff and coaches on the importance of data collection and how to use evaluation tools.
- Work collaboratively with partners to promote the appropriate sharing and use of information and insights.
Safeguarding:
- Demonstrate, at all times, a commitment to safeguarding children and adults.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Yorkshire Cricket Safeguarding policy.
- Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with Yorkshire Cricket’s Safeguarding Report Management Procedure.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment is maintained, at all times, in line with Yorkshire Cricket’s Safeguarding Guidance.

Requirements & Qualifications
• Experience: Proven experience in a monitoring, evaluation, impact measurement or research role, preferably within the charity, sport-for-development, community or public sector.
• Applied Evaluation Practice: Demonstrable experience of designing, collecting and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data in applied settings, with a clear focus on using evidence to support organisational learning, reflection and improvement.
• Data Skills: High proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting (MS Excel, CRM systems, survey tools), with a strong understanding of evaluation design methods and the ability to generate robust statistical and impact data that can be used to inform strategic decisions.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, compelling stories for a range of audiences.
• Passion for Sport: A strong understanding of how sports programmes can drive social change, specifically in terms of health, education and social cohesion.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with the UK charity landscape, funding bodies and safeguarding standards and an ability to network with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Qualifications: Relevant degree or equivalent experience is essential.
