The Person
· Preferably experienced in safeguarding and regulatory matters.
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
· Strong interpersonal and relationship management
· Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
Ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is desirable
The Role
· Responsible for recording and managing all safeguarding related referrals and concerns
· Responsible for managing the digital case management process
· Provide support in all safeguarding investigations, by evidence gathering and information sharing
· Attend Child and Adult Protection professional strategy meetings and other safeguarding related meetings
· Conduct risk assessments for safe recruitment in accordance with the WRU Safeguarding Policy
· Convene and organise WRU Safeguarding Panels relating to investigations and safe recruitment
· Stakeholder engagement and key focus through consultation groups, to develop and share best practice.
· Development of Safeguarding Resources and Tools to support Clubs and Regions
· To support clubs in developing Club Safeguarding Plans
· To support Club Safeguarding Officers (CSO) and other relevant personnel in member clubs i.e. Club Secretary, Coaches, Parents regarding safeguarding advice and guidance
· Co-ordination of the Safe Recruitment process – Application to Appointment
· Supporting Club Safeguarding Officers to effectively manage Safe Recruitment at club level
· Supporting other functions in the Integrity Regulatory and Competitions Dept. (Discipline; Player Welfare; Anti-Doping) when required
· Working with key partners to deliver Safe and Inclusive Environments
· Carry out duties in support of the WRU Group Strategic Mission, Purpose and Values
WRU Requirements
The WRU require that individuals are proficient in IT skills, specifically Microsoft packages. Excellent written and verbal communications are essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh and a Valid UK Driver's License is desirable. This role is subject to a basic/enhanced DBS check.
