The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Qualified or working towards Level 3 Coaching Award.
  • Minimum of 2 years coaching experience, ideally gained within a development or professional rugby environment.
  • Understanding of the practical, educational, vocational, and social needs of aspiring young rugby players.
  • Ability to work positively as part of a multidisciplinary management team.

The Role
Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities

  • Support the Coleg Llandrillo Rugby Academy Coordinator in long, medium, and short-term planning.
  • Assist the Coleg Llandrillo Rugby Academy Coordinator in creating and monitoring Individual Development Plans for all male players.
  • Collaborate with Coleg Llandrillo Academy staff to design and deliver high quality training sessions to student players and teams.
  • Lead the male team in competition fixtures.
  • Deliver regular previews and reviews of training and competition to individual players and teams.
  • Assist the Coleg Llandrillo Rugby Academy Coordinator in recruitment of student players for the future.
  • Assist in the coaching of other RGC Pathway programmes as required.
  • Deliver RGC Pathway Coach Education tasks as required.

  • Valid UK driving licence is required
  • This role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and reviewed regularly in line with and policy requirements

WRU Requirements

The WRU require that individuals are proficient in IT skills, specifically Microsoft packages. Excellent written and verbal communications are essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh and a Valid UK Driver's License is desirable. This role is subject to a basic/enhanced DBS check.
