The University of Liverpool is looking for two Assistant Rugby League Coaches to help drive the growth of rugby league at the University.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Coach, club committees and the Sport Liverpool team, you will help raise the performance of student teams in BUCS and associated competitions. The men’s programme is preparing a second team to enter BUCS in September 2027, and the women’s team currently ranks third nationally in the BUCS Championship.
The University is open to who the right person is – whether newly qualified, returning to coaching or looking for a new challenge – and you will be supported by the Head Coach throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured rugby league coaching sessions to club members
- Work under the Head Coach across the men’s and women’s programmes, including participation development sessions
- Help the team captain select teams for league fixtures
- Give feedback to the Head Coach on members’ development
- Follow the rules and regulations of the sport and the University

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed to improving performance and developing rugby league at all levels
- Ideally, experience of working or playing in a student environment
- Committed to professional development
