Ultra Challenge, the UK’s leading series of treks and trail runs, is looking for hardworking and resilient Event Managers with management experience to join its events team.
The Role
In 2026, more than 40,000 people took on an Ultra Challenge event, raising over £10 million for charity. You will be at the core of the events team, in charge of a small team carrying out different roles across an event weekend.
The season runs from late March to mid-October, and you can choose your preferred working days when you submit your availability. You will learn on the job from experienced Event Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up event sites on the Thursday and/or Friday, including tents, gazebos, branding, hospitality and merchandise areas and the registration zone (this includes some heavy lifting)
- Oversee your site over the event weekend and provide the best possible participant experience
- Manage a team of 5–20 staff on site
- Carry out quality control of kit and keep your site clean, tidy and well maintained
About You
- Experience of mass-participation events, outdoor events or hospitality
- Experience managing or leading a team of staff
- A “can-do” attitude and the determination to deliver excellence
- Physically fit, as the work can be demanding
- Reliable, and able to commit to several events across the season

- Contract: Fixed term, part time (event weekends, late March – mid-October)
- Pay: £13 – £15 per hour
