UEFA EURO 2028 is taking place across the UK & Ireland, who will jointly host Europe’s top 24 men’s national teams compete in a 31-day, 51 match tournament, attended by over 3 million spectators and with a global tv audience of upwards of 2 billion people.
As part of our evaluation of the tournament, Partners are seeking expressions of interest from individuals to join the EURO 2028 Tournament Evaluation Programme Academic Panel.
The Academic Panel will provide independent expertise, constructive challenge, and methodological assurance to support the design, delivery, and quality of the EURO 2028 evaluation programme. Members will assist the Tournament Evaluation Group (TEG) by ensuring that evaluation outputs are credible, robust, evidence-based, and aligned with recognised academic standards. The Panel operates in an advisory capacity and provides advice, assurance, and challenge to the TEG – the main decision-making body for the Tournament Evaluation Programme.
Panel roles will be voluntary, with members remunerated for their time with an optional honorarium of £218 per meeting. 5-7 roles are available, and partners are particularly interested in applications from academics and researchers with expertise in mega event evaluation design and implementation; socioeconomic, sustainability and environmental assessment; and quantitative and qualitative analysis. It is anticipated that the Academic Panel will meet 10-15 times between 2026 and 2030; approximately 3-4 times per year.
