The Role

The Club is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our Medical Team, working with the Women’s First Team and Academy squads.

This role will form part of an innovative and collaborative medical team committed to delivering elite-level care, performance support, and rehabilitation services. You will work closely with players and staff across both the Women’s and Academy environments to ensure optimal preparation, treatment, and recovery standards are achieved.

This position requires evening and Saturday availability, ideal for a practitioner passionate about working in elite women’s and youth football within a world-class setup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for players.
  • Design and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes, progressing players safely from injury back to full training.
  • Support recovery sessions following training and matchdays.
  • Provide matchday cover when required (including evenings and weekends).
  • Maintain accurate medical records using the Club’s electronic notes system.
  • Attend and contribute to daily or weekly medical meetings.
  • Coordinate external appointments, including imaging and specialist consultations where required.
  • Promote anti-doping and safeguarding practices in line with Club and WADA policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with coaches, sport scientists, nutritionists, psychologists, and doctors to optimise player health and performance.

Skills and Experience

  • BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (essential).
  • HCPC and CSP registered (essential).
  • Extensive CPD portfolio demonstrating ongoing professional development.
  • ATMMiF qualification (desirable).
  • Post-graduate experience working in sporting or performance environments.
  • Previous experience in football or another high-performance sport preferred.
  • Strong understanding of rehabilitation principles and return-to-play processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with athletes, parents, and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Experience supporting the physical development of youth and women’s players.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and Saturdays, with flexibility for occasional travel as required.
  • Valid UK driving licence preferred.
