The Role

The Salesforce Project Manager (Contract) will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a Salesforce implementation which is part of a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This role requires excellent project management skills, with a focus on planning, execution, and managing multiple stakeholders.

The Salesforce Project Manager will work closely with business teams, IT, Salesforce consultants, and external vendors to ensure that the project is delivered on time and budget, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring that timelines, milestones, and deliverables are clearly defined and communicated.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring regular updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations across the business, IT, and third-party vendors.
  • Salesforce Project Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the Salesforce implementation, ensuring adherence to the defined scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to minimise project impact.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project budgets and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and that the project remains on track financially.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Coordinate across cross-functional teams, including Salesforce consultants, developers, testers, business analysts, and end-users, to ensure seamless delivery and integration.
  • Change Management: Support the business in managing the organisational change associated with the Salesforce implementation, including communication plans and training.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that the project meets the required quality standards by working closely with QA teams and ensuring all project deliverables are tested and approved.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management, highlighting progress, key risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, including Salesforce consulting partners, ensuring that they meet project delivery timelines and quality standards.
  • Project Governance: Ensure adherence to the agreed governance framework, managing change control, reporting, and decision-making processes.
  • Post-Implementation Support: Manage the transition to operational support post-implementation, ensuring that handover and documentation are complete.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on Salesforce and other large-scale digital transformation projects in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Salesforce platform (e.g. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud - B2C, Marketing Cloud) and a deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, software development lifecycle and integration processes.
  • Highly experienced in project planning, risk management, and budget control.
  • Adept in managing cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to quickly build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies, with the ability to flex between different approaches as required (PMP, Prince2, or Agile Scrum certifications a plus).
  • Experience with change management principles and leading organisational change initiatives during large-scale system implementations.
  • Experience in managing the transition from project to operational support, ensuring smooth handovers and ongoing system management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as Smartsheet, Figma, Xray (Test Tooling) and JIRA, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of project governance and reporting structures, ensuring projects adhere to the defined frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
