The RPA is looking to appoint a Player Development Manager (PDM) to work with PREM rugby clubs based in the London/South East region.
As a PDM, you’ll play an important role in helping elite rugby players get the most from their careers — both on and beyond the pitch.
You’ll lead the delivery of Gain Line, the RPA’s national personal development and wellbeing programme, across two allocated Premiership Rugby clubs. Working closely with players, club staff and the wider RPA Player Development team, you’ll provide trusted, individual support from the Senior Academy through to retirement. Your work will be shaped around our five pillars: Wellbeing, Education, Career, Finance and Transition. You’ll get to know the people behind the players, understand their ambitions and challenges, and help them develop the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to thrive throughout their careers and beyond the game.
About you
You’ll have experience supporting individuals with their personal development, career, education or employability, and be confident in helping people identify their goals, explore opportunities and take positive steps towards their future.
You’ll be an excellent communicator who can build trusted relationships quickly with players, club officials and external organisations. Proactive, resourceful and adaptable, you’ll be comfortable working independently while responding to the different needs of players and club environments.
Above all, you’ll be passionate about personal development and wellbeing, and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to players during their rugby careers and as they prepare for life beyond the game.
