We have an exciting newly created opportunity within our Creative Content team at The Football Association. We are looking for a Live & Archive Producer to join us at the iconic Wembley Stadium and play a key role in the launch and continued evolution of England's owned digital platform.
This role sits at the intersection of live production and creative storytelling. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality live match coverage while unlocking the power of England's rich archive to tell meaningful, engaging stories that resonate with football audiences.
As part of England's Content team, you will lead the planning, setup and delivery of match livestreams, ensuring a premium, reliable and engaging viewing experience. Beyond matchdays, you will oversee the creation and distribution of highlights packages and reimagine archive content from England teams past and present to drive audience growth, engagement and retention.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering all England live match broadcasts on our owned platform, managing the end-to-end viewer experience including graphics, half-time output and shoulder content.
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent quality during live events, resolving technical or editorial issues in real time.
- Leading the creation and distribution of match highlights across owned and operated platforms, in line with media rights and usage restrictions.
- Carrying out quality control across live and on-demand match and archive content, including technical checks, subtitles and compliance.
- Providing clear feedback to editors, designers and suppliers to maintain strong creative and technical standards.
- Using audience insight and performance data to improve viewer retention and watch time.
- Repurposing and reimagining England's archive content to support long-form projects and platform growth.
- Managing relationships with external technical partners and staying informed on new production and streaming technologies.
- Contributing to content planning and creative ideas for key moments, milestone events and international tournaments.
- Collaborating with Social Content Managers on delivery requirements and post-production timelines.
What you'll bring:
- Strong experience in live sports production, including multi-camera workflows, encoding and livestreaming.
- Knowledge of sports media rights, licensing and platform-specific usage restrictions.
- An understanding of digital platforms and audience behaviour across owned and operated environments.
- Experience of quality control, compliance, accessibility and subtitling standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to manage agencies and suppliers.
- The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for football and audience-led storytelling.
Experience and technical skills:
- A proven track record delivering livestreams, highlights and video-on-demand content in a sports or digital broadcast environment.
- Experience curating and publishing archive footage across owned or app-based platforms.
- Demonstrable experience managing footage rights and compliance.
- Professional experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud-based production, clipping and archive management systems.
- Experience using digital asset management or media archive platforms.
- Ability to quality-check and troubleshoot live and on-demand content.
- Confidence interpreting video performance data to inform editorial decisions.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and project management tools such as Asana, Trello or similar.
- A willingness to innovate and embrace new technology and emerging trends, including AI.
