The FA's Grassroots division is looking for two Data Analysts to join the team. You will be supporting the delivery of the Grassroots Data & Intelligence roadmap, including producing accessible support tools that enable stakeholders to make evidence-based decisions about local football development.

Both positions are a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension, dependent on further funding.

What will you be doing?

  • Support the requirements development process for Place Profiles, a new tool for County FAs to support the development of football locally
  • Research potential external data indicators to feed into Place Profiles, capturing source, feasibility, priority, geography, refresh frequency, access method, limitations, etc. for each
  • Support technical teams to model, collect, clean, and combine external data sources with existing internal data in the iterative development and enhancement of Place Profiles
  • Support Place Profile adoption by contributing to UAT, delivering training, and providing ongoing support to Grassroots and County FA users
  • Support delivery of the Grassroots Data & Intelligence roadmap by working on prioritised requests, managing tasks effectively, and producing impactful data and insight outputs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including technical teams to resolve any data quality issues
  • Serve as one of the go‑to people for Grassroots data at The FA, responding promptly and professionally to queries and tickets, and clearly communicating updates to reports and dashboards
  • Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.
  • As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

  • Technical: You have advanced Power BI and Excel skills, with working knowledge of SQL and/or DAX
  • Communicative: You can convey complex, technical concepts simply and effectively, adapting your communication for different audiences

  • Conscientious: You're quality-driven, with a structured, detail-oriented approach that ensures accuracy and high data standards

Experience:

You have experience;

  • integrating and analysing data from multiple sources and managing complex datasets
  • building Power BI reports according to business requirements
  • engaging stakeholders from across business divisions
  • presenting insights in compelling ways, using storytelling, visualisation best practices, and non‑technical language

Beneficial to have:

You have experience;

  • delivering training and producing guidance to support dashboard users
  • working with data sources like ONS, Active Lives, Moving Communities, local authority datasets, etc.
  • working with GIS tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, or Mapbox
  • You have played a role within grassroots football – as a player, referee, and/or team/club admin – or another sport
