THE OPPORTUNITY
Support the design, delivery and ongoing improvement of the Sydney Swans physical preparation program by connecting athletic performance, sports science and football performance outcomes. You will translate data into practical insights that help coaches, athletic performance and medical teams make informed decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Generate insights from athletic performance, sports science and football performance information to support decision-making.
- Integrate performance, medical and football information to support player management.
- Lead athlete monitoring across wellness, internal and external training load, and strength metrics.
- Provide insights throughout the rehabilitation process to support the successful reintegration of athletes into training and competition.
- Capture, analyse and report on training and competition data.
- Assess training quality, football exposures and conditioning outcomes.
- Support gym-based and field-based athletic performance programs.
- Provide AFL and VFL match-day monitoring, reporting, rotations and recovery support.
- Apply emerging research and best practice to training, recovery and athlete development.
- Support Academy and emerging talent development programs.
- Liaise with university partners on student placements and research projects.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science, Exercise Science, Human Movement or related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications desirable.
- Experience in elite or high-performance sport.
- Strong understanding of strength and conditioning principles.
- ASCA, CSCS, UKSCA or equivalent accreditation desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or equivalent visualisation platforms.
- Experience with coding and analytics tools highly desirable.
Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as extended hours, and weekend work will be required for this role.
