Swindon Town Football Club is looking for a First Team Head Physiotherapist to lead best-practice medical and physiotherapy services for all players.
The Role
You will safeguard player health, optimise availability and lead injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation and return-to-play processes as part of a multidisciplinary team, in line with club objectives and competition medical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive medical and physiotherapy services for all players and manage the medical rota
- Oversee medical screening, cardiac assessment, pre-signing medicals and baseline testing
- Lead return-to-play processes and individualised rehabilitation with the First Team Sports Therapist
- Lead matchday medical provision for all First Team fixtures, home and away
- Oversee medical governance, anti-doping compliance and medical records
- Manage the medical department budget with the Head of Performance
About You
- A degree in Physiotherapy (minimum 2:1), HCPC registration and CSP membership
- FA ATMMiF (or equivalent) and professional indemnity insurance
- Proven experience delivering medical services in elite sport, especially pitch-based return to play
- Experience in pitch-side assessment and emergency care, and in designing rehabilitation programmes
- Strong knowledge of football medical standards and anti-doping regulations
- Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills
