Swim England is looking for an Independent Board Member to help shape the future of Swim England Qualifications.
The Role
Swim England Qualifications is the market-leading Awarding Organisation for the aquatics sector, regulated by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales and a CIMSPA Approved Awarding Organisation.
You will provide leadership, guidance and strategic direction to the executive team, with commercial expertise particularly welcome. Previous Board experience is not required – induction and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance and monitor performance against objectives
- Support compliance with Ofqual and Qualifications Wales Conditions of Recognition and other regulatory requirements
- Support and challenge opportunities to develop revenue for reinvestment
- Help assess opportunities, threats and risks
- Make sure the interests of learners, customers and stakeholders inform Board decisions
- Act as an ambassador for Swim England Qualifications
About You
- Experience at operational and strategic level in an education or awarding organisation setting
- Knowledge of qualifications, learning and development and awarding organisations
- Commercial expertise is particularly welcome
- A commitment to Swim England’s values
Key Details
- Location: Virtual meetings, with one meeting a year at SportPark, Loughborough
- Role: Voluntary, with travel and accommodation expenses reimbursed
- Time commitment: Around six days a year, including four Board meetings
- Term: Initial four years, with the option of a second term
