Swansea City is looking for a Lead Pre-Academy Coach to lead the recruitment and development of high-potential players in its Pre-Academy as they prepare to move into the Foundation Phase.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Academy Coaching, you will design and run the Pre-Academy coaching programme, lead coaching for the U8s development group and manage the Pre-Academy coaching staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the Pre-Academy coaching programme
- Work with the Head of Academy Recruitment to identify the best talent to progress into the U9s
- Ensure sessions follow the Swansea City Academy curriculum, working with the Lead Foundation Phase Coach
- Develop Pre-Academy coaches through in-house training and CPD
- Lead the review and feedback programme for Pre-Academy players
- Build strong relationships with local grassroots clubs and manage player and parent expectations
About You
- UEFA B Licence and FA Introduction to Talent Identification
- At least three years’ coaching experience, including recruitment processes and working with parents
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, written and IT skills
- Desirable: FA Advanced Youth Award, FA National Talent Identification & Scouting in Football, and a degree in sports coaching, education or a related subject
