Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Matchday Duties

• Attend all U18 Pathway male home fixtures and training sessions.
• Attend all Men’s 2nd XI fixtures and training sessions (where not clashing with Pathway commitments).
• Attend Professional Men’s full squad training sessions as required, as directed by the Head of Medicine.
• Act as a first-contact clinician, triaging medical concerns both in-person and remotely.
• Facilitate medical handovers for Academy players selected for representative honours (e.g., England Young Lions), including reintegration upon return.
• Prepare, manage, and transport medical equipment for all training sessions and fixtures.

Rehabilitation & Performance Responsibilities

• Lead rehabilitation of a wide Academy, selected EPP players, and Academy cricket staff on a case-by-case basis.
• Deliver injury prevention strategies within the Academy programme, aligned with the Club’s philosophy and approved by the Head of Medicine.
• Collaborate in pre-season screening alongside the Head of Medicine and Head of Physical Performance.
• Support Pathways Strength & Conditioning (S&C) to ensure high standards of testing, data collection, and performance processes throughout the Academy season.
• Coordinate with Pathways S&C regarding Sports Science & Medicine (SS&M) technologies including GPS, VALD, TeamBuildr, and Smartabase (ECB).
• Participate in departmental in-services within the SS&M department.
Professional Standards & Governance
• Maintain full compliance with HCPC, CSP, ECB, and Club professional standards, including strict adherence to medical confidentiality.
• Maintain an up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio aligned with HCPC standards and your personal development plan.
• Keep current with all mandatory Club and ECB training requirements.
• Demonstrate high competence in safeguarding and welfare risk identification, escalating concerns appropriately and efficiently.
• Maintain Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (provided by Club).

Working Hours & Availability

• Act as an on-call clinician throughout the season (excluding annual leave).
• Be prepared to work up to 60 hours per week in-season.
• Be available for evening and weekend work during the cricket season.
• Be prepared for national travel with teams, including extended working hours during home fixtures.
• Understand that annual leave is limited during the cricket season.
