The Vacancy
This role will establish and maintain a world-class education and development programme for current and aspiring High Performance coaches. As an energetic and inspirational individual, you will demonstrate a strong strategic vision, have the ability to motivate others, whilst generating solutions and opportunities to support the ongoing development of High-Performance coaches.
What you will be doing:
- Design and lead the national High Performance coach development strategy, including succession planning, talent identification, and alignment with global best practice.
- Develop and deliver education and development programmes for HP coaches, including PDPs, mentoring systems, and quality assurance of coach education across pathways.
- Strengthen integration between High Performance and the community game, ensuring a consistent Coaching Plan and alignment with the Scottish Rugby Player Development Pathway
- Build and manage impactful stakeholder relationships with internal departments and external bodies (e.g., World Rugby, Six Nations), promoting coaching excellence and maintaining professional standards.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven success working within high‑performance or talent‑development sports environments, ideally with experience in rugby.
- Demonstrated track record in coach education and workforce development, with experience leading diverse teams toward shared goals.
- Strong professional credibility and interpersonal skills, including influencing, negotiation, integrity, and the ability to build trust across varied stakeholders
