The Vacancy

This role will be responsible for the alignment of rugby statistical data and video analysis across all High-Performance (HP) programmes and teams. It will establish how the data, statistics, and video analysis should be utilised across all multi-disciplinary platforms and teams within Scottish Rugby, with the ambition of improvement knowledge and performance

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and manage the Performance Analysis function, including setting standards, overseeing analysts, driving professional development, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement rugby data and analysis frameworks, including game analysis projects, statistical templates, and alignment of data/video processes across all High‑Performance programmes.
  • Oversee data systems and technology, coordinating Athlete Management Software, managing software contracts, and identifying innovations that enhance performance output.
  • Coordinate and maintain national and global performance information, including managing SQ programme data, distributing match/video outputs, and maintaining global player and coach databases.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in high‑performance professional rugby environments, demonstrating an understanding of elite rugby operations and performance demands.
  • Strong capability in data collection, analysis, visualisation, and reporting tools, with a track record of training others to use these systems effectively.
  • Deep understanding of game models, performance metrics, and tactical frameworks, enabling informed analysis and meaningful insights for coaches and players.
  • Experience managing diverse teams and budgets, combined with the ability to embed new technologies in a continually evolving performance environment.
