Are you ready to lead the future of performance nutrition in one of the most dynamic rugby nations in the world? Scottish Rugby is seeking an experienced Head of Nutrition to drive strategy across the entire performance spectrum — from emerging talent in our Pathway Programmes to our Senior National Teams competing on the global stage.

This is your opportunity to take centre stage in shaping the nutritional foundations of elite rugby performance in Scotland, fuelling success at every level of the game.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and deliver a Nutrition Strategy for athletes across pathway, academy, professional and senior national teams.
  • Lead and inspire a team of performance nutritionists, setting clear standards and fostering continual professional development.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver integrated, player-centric support.
  • Drive alignment and consistency, ensuring nutrition support is tailored, measurable, and impactful – from training ground to international competition.
  • Represent Scottish Rugby on national and international platforms, advocating best practice in performance nutrition.

What we're looking for:

This role demands a bold leader with expertise in sport nutrition, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to translate science into action. You should be passionate about high performance, ready to guide and support others, and confident working in a fast-paced, elite sporting environment.

  • Someone with a degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, and a postgraduate qualification in Sport or Exercise Science, or vice versa, and ISAK Level 1 accreditation (minimum)
  • 5+ years’ experience in elite sport, ideally including rugby
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities, ideally including budget management
  • Demonstrable success in programme development, implementation, and evaluation

At Scottish Rugby, we’re building a performance system that is bold, ambitious, and future-focused. You’ll play a pivotal role in helping our players reach their peak and our teams reach new heights.
