The Vacancy

This is a unique role with the Scottish Rugby Physiotherapy ecosystem and requires an adaptable, resilient, and highly autonomous clinician who can thrive in the high-octane, small-unit environment of International Sevens.

It offers unparalleled international exposure and autonomy but with clear reporting lines and remote support. We expect it to be a highly sought after job role for an ambitious clinician who wants to fast-track their development.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead all clinical requirements during World Series and European tours, including acute triage, Return to Play decisions in tournament windows, and recovery protocols.
  • Run daily treatment and prep clinics while on the road, managing everything from taping and soft tissue work to neuro-muscular screening.
  • Manage the mobile medical kit, pharmacy supplies, and emergency equipment required for international travel.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records on the Scottish Rugby central system, even while operating in remote or high-pressure environments.

What we’re looking for:

  • BSc Physiotherapy - HCPC & CSP Registered
  • Level 3 Pitch-side Traima Certification (PHICIS or equiv)
  • Experience in a professional team sport environment, preferrably rugby
  • Resilience for working long hours in a high pressure environment, with international travel
