Rugby World Cup Australia is looking for an experienced Ticketing Operations Manager to join the team! Based in our Sydney office and reporting to the Head of Ticketing Systems, you'll lead the end‑to‑end delivery of ticketing operations for Rugby World Cup 2027. You'll help shape the experience for more than 2.5 million fans across multiple venues coordinating smooth, efficient ticketing while supporting the needs of internal stakeholders. Success in this role comes from strong planning, clear communication, and the ability to navigate a wide range of stakeholder priorities. With deep ticketing expertise, you'll play a key role in supporting audience and revenue goals for World Rugby and Rugby World Cup Australia (RWCA). You'll collaborate closely with teams across WREM and RWCA including Venues, Premium Experiences, Security, and Commercial Operations to deliver a seamless and memorable ticketing experience for every fan.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the delivery of world‑class ticketing operations across multiple match venues.
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams, venues, and external providers to meet operational needs and maximise ticket revenue.
- Oversee seating manifests, fan‑flow planning, and venue reviews to ensure accurate data and seamless spectator movement.
- Work with Ticketmaster, WREM, and the RWCA to configure ticketing systems, manage inventory, and plan on‑sales across all phases.
- Manage ticketing system controls, including hold codes, quotas, and seat allocations for all constituent groups.
- Coordinate ticket distribution processes, venue box office operations, access integration, and training for ticketing staff and volunteers.
- Provide venue‑specific ticketing information, contribute to policies and operational plans, and support reporting, insights, and stakeholder workshops.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years' experience delivering ticketing operations for major events in Australia, including hands‑on implementation of large‑scale ticketing systems.
- Deep knowledge of ticket sales processes and ticketing platforms (ideally Ticketmaster), with strong familiarity with emerging ticketing technologies.
- Strong data analysis capability, using complex data sets to identify trends, inform decisions, and manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships quickly across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally to deliver shared objectives in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and contribute to a positive, high‑performance team culture.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail, able to prioritise effectively, manage multiple deadlines, and work flexibly including evenings and weekends during event periods.
