Rugby World Cup Australia is seeking a Team Base Operations Coordinator to join our team based in the Sydney CBD. Reporting to the Senior Team Base Manager, the Team Base Operations Coordinator supports the coordination of training venues, including outdoor and indoor training facilities, gyms and pools that together form each Team Base. The role works closely with teams across RWC Australia, including Tournament Services and Tournament Operations, as well as external venue partners, to help ensure Team Base environments are well prepared and ready for use.

The Coordinator plays a hands‑on role in the day‑to‑day planning and delivery of Team Base facilities and services, helping Participating Teams prepare and train effectively throughout the tournament period. Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, the role supports operational planning, documentation, site coordination and issue management. With a strong focus on service, organisation and follow‑through, the position contributes to the consistent, high‑quality delivery of Team Base operations across the Rugby World Cup 2027 footprint.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the delivery of Team Base facilities and services to a high standard, in line with Rugby World Cup requirements, ensuring a consistent experience for all 24 Participating Teams
  • Assist with Team Base operational planning, including space use, technology needs, security arrangements, commercially clean requirements and temporary overlay, working closely with internal teams
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including RWC Australia, World Rugby, venue owners and operators, suppliers and contractors
  • Coordinate and maintain key Team Base documentation, support risk assessments, and assist with the planning and delivery of site visits and Team Site Visits
  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative and operational support to the Team Base programme, including issue tracking, reporting and supporting tournament‑time Team Base staff as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-4 years' experience in an operations, coordination or service delivery role, ideally within sport, major events or complex, fast‑paced environments
  • Experience supporting operations or coordinating services in stakeholder‑rich environments with high service expectations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate well within teams
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar systems
  • A professional, reliable and solutions‑focused approach, with flexibility to work irregular hours, travel domestically when required, and a genuine passion for contributing to Rugby World Cup 2027
