Rugby World Cup Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate Fan Services & Precinct Activations Manager to help design and deliver world-class matchday experiences for Rugby World Cup 2027. Based in Sydney and reporting to the Head of Fan Experience, this role sits at the heart of tournament delivery, shaping how fans experience the event from the moment they arrive in a host city through to their time at the stadium. With a strong focus on the overall fan journey through to matchday venues, you will play a critical role in bringing the tournament atmosphere to life and ensuring every fan touchpoint is seamless, engaging and memorable.
You will lead the development and delivery of pre-game precinct experiences across all venues, while mapping and enhancing the broader end-to-end fan journey. Working collaboratively across multiple functional teams, you will act as the voice of the fan, ensuring that all planning and delivery decisions are grounded in creating an exceptional and connected fan experience.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and map the end-to-end fan journey across venues and host cities for the tournament
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fan services strategy across host cities and venues.
- Work collaboratively with other functional areas to deliver a world class fan experience ensuring all key fan touchpoints are meticulously planned such as ensuring seamless pre-match communication, wayfinding, information services and accessibility.
- Ensure consistent service standards across all fan-facing environments including all tournament venues deliver an outstanding experience for all fans
- Collaborate with internal teams (city operations, marketing, operations, workforce, commercial, ticketing) to deliver an integrated experience. Oversee stadium and precinct services, ensuring a welcoming, vibrant, and engaging atmosphere
- Lead the concept development and execution of stadium precinct activations, including entertainment, cultural programming and interactive fan experiences
- Manage delivery partners and agencies to execute high-quality pre- and post-match activations aligned to tournament brand and experience standards
- Collaborate with host cities, venues and internal functional areas (workforce, logistics, marketing, sports presentation) to ensure integrated delivery across the last mile
- Partner with commercial teams to integrate sponsor activations into stadium precincts, ensuring contractual obligations are met creatively and effectively
- Monitor fan feedback and insights to drive ongoing improvements
- Participate in State Government working groups to ensure collaboration across all Government agencies
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years' experience delivering large-scale events (sporting preferred but not essential), with exposure to complex, multi-stakeholder environments in Australia or internationally
- Proven experience in fan services, spectator services and/or activations, delivering projects end-to-end from strategy through to execution
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, manage competing priorities, and navigate challenging conversations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, venues, budgets and timelines simultaneously, with high attention to detail and a structured approach
- Experience integrating commercial outcomes, including working with partners, sponsors or fan-facing initiatives to enhance the overall experience
- Solid understanding of operational delivery, including risk, safety and readiness, with the ability to embed compliance into planning
- A balanced skillset combining creative thinking and operational execution, with the confidence to lead, collaborate and make informed decisions in fast-paced environments
- Proactive, adaptable and self-motivated, thriving in high-pressure environments and excited by the opportunity to be part of a major global event
- Flexibility to travel and work evenings/weekends as required
