This role will be responsible to lead and shape the strategic direction of team kit, and for overseeing the ordering, production and distribution of trackside and factory team clothing, as well as driver and team technical clothing. Management of the end-to-end team kit process covering clothing and elements of equipment throughout the race season. Manage operations of our external contractor as well as working alongside Internal Stakeholders to ensure the team's kit is consistent with our brand guidelines and kept up to date. You will manage 1 to 2 direct reports within a team function.
Accountabilities:
Stakeholder Management:
- Chief Commercial Officer, Marketing Operations Director, Sporting Director, Finance and Marketing teams
- Visible role model and brand ambassador, representing the company internally and externally.
- Key point of contact for team kit, including Senior Management and Drivers.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the entire inventory management process. Maintaining accurate records of the full team clothing spectrum (on-track, travel, events)
- Supplier management, ensuring timely delivery of the correct items and manage any concerns arising from poor quality or items not matching the order requirements
- Maintain strong, senior relationships with branding partners. Ability to negotiate terms with partners and licensees – holding them accountable to deliver the right products in a timely manner that influence the wider business outcomes.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reordering when necessary to ensure that the team has an adequate supply of all essential items
Kit Maintenance:
- Ownership of team kit log including any repair/replacement items
- Maintain up-to-date records including a list of supplier issues
- Coordinate with mechanics and engineers to address any technical clothing issues promptly and efficiently. Identity suitable alternative solutions and innovative ways of improving garments when existing partners fail to meet requirements
- Ensuring all kit adheres to FIA Technical rules.
Distribution and Allocation:
- Manage the Senior Team Kit Executive who has responsibility for the timely and efficient distribution of kit, ensuring that each member has the necessary items for their role
- Coordinate kit distribution between team members during international travel and local events to ensure everyone has access to their required gear
Travel Logistics:
- Coordinate the packing and transportation of all team apparel for travel to races and events – including the supply of a driver kit checklist for arrival/departure at track/events
- Ensure that all necessary items arrive at each destination on time and in good condition, and is efficiently packed up and transported to the next location
Budget Management:
- Manage the team kit budget
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in equipment/kit procurement and management processes
Essential Competencies/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the motorsports industry
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team with a varied group of stakeholders
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to technical apparel is a plus
- A passion for Formula 1 racing and an understanding of the sport
- Stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and best practices in team kit management to enhance efficiency and performance
- Flexibility to work irregular hours. Occasional travel required to support team kit at trackside and off-site events
