Red Bull Powertrains has an exciting opportunity as a Product Validation Engineer to join our technical team as we transition from building our team’s first Power Units to refining them into a race-ready package, all aimed at delivering the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid.

As an F1 Power Unit Product Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for defining the predicted duty requirements of the F1 Power Unit. To develop the methodology to prove and track the duty requirements in dynamometer testing and on the racetrack. You will be responsible for defining the envelope in which the PU can operate at the racetrack to ensure reliability whilst maximising its performance potential.

Some key accountabilities of the role are listed below:

  • Define and implement the product validation strategy for all PU configurations across the F1 season and in the long-term programme.
  • Define validation objectives, test content, expected outcome to validate PU performance, durability, and integration.
  • Define duty cycles, instrumentation requirements, and durability test profiles based on validation needs and the requirements of the race season.
  • Develop methodology to monitor and assess PU operation at the track – correlating back to durability testing and lap simulation predictions.
  • Product Validation support for test and race events where required from the Remote Ops Room.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree with a 2:1 minimum in an engineering subject or related field
  • Experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning desirable.
  • Experience working with large datasets and utilizing data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Familiarity with power unit systems, engine and ERS durability metrics, and Formula One racing rules and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced racing environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for motorsports, Formula One racing, and a deep interest in power unit technology

If you’re driven to win, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to help define the future of data-driven performance in Formula One, this is your chance

At Red Bull Powertrains, we push the limits, fight for every victory, and get things done with relentless focus. Joining us means being part of a high-performance team that thrives on collaboration, trust, and ambition. We celebrate wins, learn from challenges, and take our work seriously—but not ourselves. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy:

  • Bonuses,
  • Private healthcare,
  • A pension scheme,
  • On-site gym,
  • Free daily food allowance
  • And many more!

Most importantly, you’ll play a key role in powering championship-winning cars. If you're ready to be part of something extraordinary, apply now and help shape the future of F1.
