At Red Bull Powertrains, we’re redefining F1 power unit technology, pushing the limits of innovation and manufacturing grand prix winning power unit components. Join a team of talented individuals and visionaries dedicated to creating the future of motorsport. If you have the passion and expertise to drive excellence, the challenge starts here.

In a rapidly changing regulatory environment, you will be required to apply physics from first principles and knowledge of cutting-edge technology to create high-performance PU hardware. We are looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer to join the ERS Power unit Energy Store Design Team.

Key responsibilities of our Mechanical Design Engineers

  • Delivering Engineering solutions to the agreed specification, program plan and cost.
  • Investigating, containing and resolving faults to ensure there is no negative impact to the running of Power Units.
  • Creating, collating, and communicating the Engineering direction to the key stake holders.
  • Creating and releasing detailed engineering models and technical drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Removing mechanical limitations to performance development and deployment.
  • Actively contributing to the team’s and departments development.

Essential competencies for our Mechanical Engineers

  • Previous experience in developing detailed requirements from an Engineering scope.
  • Competence in using one of the main CAD packages to produce 3D models and 2D Engineering drawings.
  • Working experience in delivering Engineering direction when presented with imperfect data
  • Mechanical (or similar discipline) Engineering degree or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Experience of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification
  • Experience in designing for manufacture to improve quality, reduce cost and reduce Leadtime without sacrificing performance
  • Designing from clean sheet using first principles.
  • Previous experience of designing high-performance high-power electrical systems for motorsport along with an understanding of the mechanical integration of high voltage components, would be advantageous but not essential

At Red Bull Powertrains, we push the limits, fight for every victory, and get things done with relentless focus. Joining us means being part of a high-performance team that thrives on collaboration, trust, and ambition. We celebrate wins, learn from challenges, and take our work seriously—but not ourselves. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy:

  • Bonuses,
  • Private healthcare,
  • A pension scheme,
  • On-site gym,
  • Free daily food allowance
  • And many more!

Most importantly, you’ll play a key role in powering championship-winning cars. If you're ready to be part of something extraordinary, apply now and help shape the future of F1.
