What you'll be doing:

  • Manage tenancies, including allocations, sign-ups and tenancy sustainment.

  • Support tenants in sustaining their homes, including providing advice on financial matters and signposting to welfare support services.
  • Manage rent accounts, proactively tackling arrears, and dealing with service charge queries.
  • Investigate and resolve anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches, taking appropriate enforcement action where required.
  • Work closely with colleagues, contractors, and partner agencies to ensure homes and estates are well managed.
  • Engage tenants in shaping our housing services, supporting community activities, and encouraging feedback.

This role requires travel to our housing schemes in Newmarket, Malton, Middleham, Berkshire and Epsom, with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Knowledge of housing law, tenancy management, and landlord/tenant responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in rent collection, arrears management, and service charges.
  • The ability to manage ASB and tenancy breaches effectively.
  • IT proficiency and accurate record-keeping skills.
  • A proactive, people-focused mindset with a passion for quality housing
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

It would also be desirable if you have a housing qualification, are a member of a professional body (CIH, ARLA, NHF).

Why join us?

  • Varied and meaningful work across beautiful rural and town-based properties
  • An environment where your work will be genuinely valued by tenants who take pride in their homes and communities.
  • Flexibility, autonomy, and opportunities to grow professionally in a respected national charity.

You will be offered a competitive salary, employer pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, flexible working patterns to ensure a healthy work-life balance, life assurance, tickets to almost all race meetings at Jockey Club racecourses, twice-yearly two-day staff training and team building events along with a range of other employee wellbeing initiatives.
