Portsmouth Football Club is looking for an experienced and highly motivated First Team Physiotherapist to join its Men’s First Team Medical Department.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Medical and working closely with the Rehabilitation Lead, you will deliver medical care, performance physiotherapy and player readiness support for the Men’s First Team, working across Medical, Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition and Coaching as part of the Pompey Performance WAY.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy to all Men’s First Team players
- Assess, diagnose and manage injuries using evidence-based practice and sound clinical reasoning
- Develop and deliver injury management and rehabilitation plans with the Head of Medical and Rehabilitation Lead
- Provide daily treatment, including manual therapy and other performance physiotherapy interventions
- Communicate player status clearly to the multidisciplinary Performance Department
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records and support player readiness for training and matches
About You
- A BSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy/Rehabilitation
- FA ATMMiF pitch-side first aid qualification
- At least three years’ experience in elite sport
- Experience assessing, diagnosing and rehabilitating neuromuscular and orthopaedic conditions in elite athletes
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and organisational skills
- An MSc and a full driving licence and car are desirable

- Location: Portsmouth FC Training Ground, Pompey Health and Fitness, 442 Copnor Road, Hilsea (PO3 5EW), with travel
- Contract: Permanent, full time (minimum 37.5 hours per week, including matchday travel)
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
