Middlesex Tennis is looking for a Secretary / Governance Trustee to join its Board.
The Role
Middlesex Tennis is the official county association and registered charity responsible for administering, promoting and developing tennis and padel across north, west and parts of east London. It affiliates to the LTA and supports its vision of “Tennis Opened Up”.
The Board is made up of up to 12 voluntary Trustees, each with a specific role, who collectively take legal, financial and strategic responsibility for the charity. Trustees serve a minimum of two years, with a nine-year term limit.
Key Responsibilities
- Make sure Trustees are notified of formal meetings and have the necessary papers
- Keep accurate records, including minutes of Board meetings and the AGM
- Oversee Charity Commission requirements, including the Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts
- Ensure terms of reference and role profiles are reviewed annually and a biennial Board effectiveness review takes place
- Manage Board compliance around succession planning and Trustee terms
About You
- Experience as a senior administrator, ideally working with CEOs, boards and regulators in the charitable sector
- Experience as a chartered governance professional, legal professional or in a corporate secretariat role would be a bonus
