We’re looking for a Traffic & Transport Executive to help deliver safe, efficient and sustainable transport services across Manchester City and the wider Etihad Campus. From matchdays and concerts to day-to-day operations, you’ll play a hands-on role in managing parking, traffic flow and contractor performance, while supporting projects that enhance safety, visitor experience and sustainability.
This is Your City
As part of our team, you will be entitled to 26 days annual leave plus an additional day off for your birthday, private healthcare and a Simply Health cash plan, an annual discretionary bonus, plus a range of partnership and lifestyle discounts.
Your Impact
- Oversee the operational planning, management and delivery of car parking and first-line traffic management across all MCFC, MCWFC, EDS, U18 fixtures, concerts and major events, ensuring a best-in-class service.
- Coordinate parking and traffic requirements for internal events and venue sales, as well as for non-matchday activities, including the development and delivery of a business-as-usual operational parking plan.
- Support the contract management of the Traffic and Transport contract to ensure full compliance with the contract by the contractor.
- Administer staffing schedules, purchase orders and reconciliation reports to enable efficient processing and accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain traffic and transport technology systems, ensuring schedules and allocations are consistently accurate.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of KPIs and P&L, including extracting, analysing and reporting data to drive operational efficiencies, financial savings and customer service improvements.
- Collect, analyse and interpret survey data to inform sustainable travel initiatives and improve traffic and transport operations.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders (e.g. TfGM, Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police, and other campus venues) to shape a best-in-class parking and transport plan for the Etihad Campus.
- Provide input and expertise to infrastructure and technology projects with traffic or transport impacts, ensuring operations are considered at every stage.
What we are looking for
- Ideally, an understanding of parking & traffic management systems and processes including transport infrastructure (e.g. Urban Traffic Control signal phasing) and road closures would be beneficial.
- A-Level / Level 3 Education or equivalent experience in a hands-on operational role.
- Strong IT skills.
- The ability to gather and analyse complex data to drive efficiencies and improvements and to communicate this information effectively and concisely to key stakeholders/leadership/management.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders both internally and externally, from the teams they manage to peers and leadership.
