The Role

We are seeking a Senior Employer Relations Manager to play a key leadership role in delivering a high-quality, consistent and commercially focused Employee Relations service across City Football Group.

With primary responsibility for the UK and involvement in global initiatives, you will lead on complex case management, acting as a trusted escalation point for sensitive matters and ensuring outcomes are fair, robust and aligned with business objectives.

You will oversee the delivery and quality of Employee Relations casework, leading and developing a team of ER Advisers to ensure a consistent, best-practice approach across the organisation. Through coaching, quality assurance and continuous improvement, you will drive high standards and build capability within both the ER team and the wider business.

Alongside operational delivery, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving CFG’s Employee Relations framework supporting policy development, embedding EDI principles and ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.

You will use data and insight to identify trends, inform decision-making and proactively address organisational risks, while also leading on horizon scanning for employment law developments and emerging best practice.

This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, and support wider wellbeing initiatives making a tangible impact on both employee experience and organisational performance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstratable experience managing complex Employee Relations casework within a large, multi-site or matrix organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, organisational change and TUPE.
  • Proven experience acting as an escalation point providing coaching to leaders.
  • Experience leading or supporting organisational design and change initiatives.
  • Experience coaching managers and developing leadership.
  • Ability to analyse ER data, identify trends and translate insights into proactive, preventative action.
  • Experience contributing to policy development and implementation, with a strong commitment to embedding EDI principles.
  • Demonstrated experience as a line manager, with the ability to lead, coach and develop a team effectively.
