City Football Group (CFG) is the holding company established to oversee the creation and administration of a network of linked clubs and other footballing operations under the aegis of Manchester City.
The Role
You will take ownership of education delivery for players in the Professional Development Phase, helping them achieve their target grades while keeping their wider football commitments in view. The role combines teaching, assessment and planning, with a strong focus on making learning relevant, motivating and properly supported.
A key part of the job is delivering BTEC Sport and other appropriate qualifications, then keeping progress under review through accurate tracking, reporting and day-to-day administration.
You will help identify where extra support is needed and work with others to put practical plans in place that keep players moving forward.
This is a collaborative role with regular contact across the academy, schools, colleges and other stakeholders involved in each player’s development. You will need a flexible approach to working around training schedules and academy commitments, while contributing positively to the Academy values of Graft, Pride, Ambition and Respect.
What You'll Bring
⚽Experience teaching or tutoring young people in an education, academy, sport or post-16 setting.
⚽A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or QTLS, or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
⚽Knowledge of BTEC Sport and/or other relevant education programmes, with the ability to plan, deliver and assess learning effectively.
⚽Organisational skills and confidence managing reports, records, deadlines and day-to-day administration accurately.
⚽Clear communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with players, schools, families and colleagues.
⚽Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital tools, with a flexible approach to working around training schedules and academy commitments.
