Our purpose is to empower better lives through football. We are proud of the role City Football Group clubs play in their localities, delivering positive economic, social and environmental impact through our operations and through programmes and activities that bring about meaningful, lasting change.

City Football Group is seeking a Football Transactions Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering player transactions across our global portfolio of clubs. Covering a defined geographic patch, this role will manage the end-to-end execution of player trading activity, working closely with Sporting Directors, executives, agents and external clubs. You’ll operate at the intersection of football, strategy and commercial decision-making — providing expert guidance, shaping negotiation approaches and ensuring transactions are delivered consistently, transparently and in line with CFG principles. This is a highly collaborative, internationally focused role where language skills, cultural awareness and strong relationship management are essential.

This is Your City

As part of our team, you will be entitled to 26 days annual leave plus an additional day off for your birthday, private healthcare and a Simply Health cash plan, an annual discretionary bonus, plus a range of partnership and lifestyle discounts.

Your Impact

  1. Lead and deliver football transactions across assigned CFG clubs, managing the full lifecycle from strategy through to completion.
  2. Act as a trusted business partner to Sporting Directors and senior club leadership, providing expert advice on player trading activity.
  3. Embed and uphold CFG Player Trading principles, ensuring consistent and compliant practices across all transactions.
  4. Support and influence negotiations with clubs, players and agents, offering both direct and indirect negotiation support.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies, clubs and key stakeholders globally, identifying pathway, value-creation and strategic opportunities.
  6. Provide insight and recommendations to senior CFG leadership on player trading matters.
  7. Oversee transaction workflows and coordination, ensuring timely communication, analysis and decision-making.
  8. Contribute to the development of group-wide transaction strategies, processes and forums, helping CFG evolve with industry best practice.

What we are looking for

  • Experience working in football operations, sporting, consulting or strategic commercial environments – ideally working directly with clubs, agencies and players across international markets.
  • Strong understanding of football transactions, negotiations, contract structures and financial modelling with proven experience resolving complex negotiations or conflicts.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Italian, French or Portuguese is highly desirable, with additional languages a strong advantage given the geographic scope of the role.
  • High-level communication and presentation skills, comfortable operating in complex, high-pressure situations.
  • Strategic, analytical mindset with strong commercial judgement.
  • Confidence working across multiple clubs, cultures and jurisdictions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Robust experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
