City Football Group is seeking an exceptional Football Insights Architect to drive the application of football data and analytics within a partner club environment in Abu Dhabi. In this role you’ll be the bridge between analytical evidence and football decision-making – turning metrics like expected goals (xG), predicted points and performance KPIs into meaningful recommendations that inform coaching and performance strategy. You’ll manage and evolve our Football Insights Platform, embedding insight and confidence into daily practice while building strong, trusted relationships with technical staff.

This is a rare chance to combine technical excellence with football understanding in a hands-on football environment.

This is Your City

As part of our team, you will be entitled to 26 days annual leave plus an additional day off for your birthday, private healthcare and a Simply Health cash plan, an annual discretionary bonus, plus a range of partnership and lifestyle discounts.

Your Impact

  • Lead the deployment, administration and continuous improvement of our Football Insights Platform and associated analytical products.
  • Analyse complex football datasets (e.g., xG, predicted points, tactical and performance metrics) and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
  • Present insight directly to coaches and performance staff, crafting narratives that support real-world football decisions.
  • Build strong working relationships with football practitioners, embedding insight into planning, analysis cycles and tactical discussions.
  • Deliver structured performance reviews, visualisations, and evidence-led recommendations across football operations.
  • Advocate for analytics adoption and best practice among non-technical audiences, helping stakeholders get the most from data.

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience administering and managing BI/analytics platforms such as Tableau Server.
  • Demonstrable ability to interpret football data (including xG, predicted outcomes and key performance metrics) and communicate it effectively to technical and coaching staff.
  • Deep understanding of football as a sport — its tactics, trends, metrics and modern analytical approaches.
  • Proven ability to build rapport quickly with coaches, analysts and performance practitioners.
  • Ability to deliver compelling visualisations and insight products that support football decisions.
  • Confidence working independently in a fast-paced, elite sporting environment.
