The purpose of the Family Engagement Manager is to manage the day-to-day delivery of the Family Engagement and Early Years programmes to support CITC’s community programme and the charity’s wider strategic aims. The Family Engagement Manager is fully accountable for the City Play Programme, City Play Together Programme and City Onside Programme.

Accountabilities

  • Manage a team of Officers, Lead and Delivery Coaches to deliver the Family Engagement and Early Years programmes across the full academic year, engaging participants across a wide range of ages, social backgrounds, and abilities.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of high-quality, relevant curriculum, ensuring the content meets the needs of stakeholders and adds value to settings and partners. Regularly review the programme curriculum and KPIs to ensure it remains engaging, educational, and aligned with CITC’s strategic goals and partner expectations.
  • Report on set outcomes associated with each programme to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the partner organisations and external funding partners. Ensure the team meets all reporting, quality assurance and programme KPI’s.
  • Align the strategic direction of CITC’s Family Engagement provision with CITC strategic aims and KPIs, supporting re-signs and new partner recruitment to ensure long-term sustainability and growth of each programme.
  • Create, maintain and develop relationships with internal partners from CITC and the wider City Football Group (CFG), external funders, local authorities and governing bodies to develop CITC’s reputation and reach, promoting all CITC programmes across Manchester.
  • Regularly reviewing individual performances within the team, providing structured feedback to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery and support on the programmes.
  • Maintain highest standards of safeguarding are embedded across the team, work to ensure that safeguarding practices and principles are adhered to, ensuring our legal and moral obligations towards the framework.
  • Ensuring that all CITC and CFG policies and procedures are adhered to across the team and act as an escalation point for any breaches, investigating as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • In-depth understanding of community-based programmes, specifically in early years settings
  • Solid experience of working in and liaising with schools, nurseries, community organisations, local government departments and external funding partners
  • Knowledge of CITC’s family engagement programmes and their purpose within an early years or community setting
  • Experience of coordinating community programmes and achieving associated KPI’s and outcomes
  • Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club
  • Experience of designing relevant programme curriculums that align with the EYFS framework
  • Experience of managing a remote team
  • Experience of managing multiple and ongoing projects
  • Budget management and reporting
  • Competent across Microsoft office
  • Engagement of stakeholders from across the business
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
  • Resilient and adaptable to change
  • Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities

Desirable

  • Degree level education
  • NHS Working with Young People whilst in hospital
  • Track record of building sustainable partnerships
  • Coaching or early-years specific qualifications relevant to the role
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience of delivering technical training for team members and other professionals
  • Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects
  • Knowledge of the local needs of early years children and families
