einster Rugby would like to invite applications from suitably experienced and qualified coach for the position of Head Coach for the Leinster Rugby Senior Women’s team.

The Leinster Rugby Senior Women’s team and the annual Interprovincial series are a highlight of the rugby calendar.

The Leinster Rugby Women’s team won the Interprovincial Championship as recently as 2024 and finished as runners-up last year. With 20 new caps last season and a number of players featuring internationally, this is an exciting opportunity to build on this success for the 2026 season.

The Leinster Women’s Head Coach will be responsible for leading the technical, tactical, and performance programme for the senior women’s squad. Working closely with the Player Development and Pathway teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in identifying talent, developing players, and preparing the team for interprovincial competition.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing a high-quality selection, coaching and development programme leading up to and including the 2026 Interprovincial Series.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Performance Coach Award qualification or World Rugby Level 3 (or working towards completion).
  • Proven coaching experience as Senior Head Club Coach, Provincial or International level.
  • A record of developing players and teams through stage 3 and stage 4.
  • Strong understanding of the Women’s game and the player pathway in Ireland.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills with athletes and staff.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • A personal commitment to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of all on-field and off-field coaching sessions.
  • Develop and implement a performance-focused game model aligned with Leinster Rugby’s philosophy.
  • Select squads for training and competition in collaboration with coaching and support staff.
  • Provide individual feedback and development plans for players.
  • Contribute to talent identification across the women’s pathway, including close collaboration with clubs and age-grade programmes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team environment.
  • Work effectively with strength & conditioning, medical, analysis, and administrative staff to enable optimal team preparation.
  • Represent Leinster Rugby in media, community and promotional activity as required.

Time Commitment

This part time position will be over a five-month fixed term period and will require flexibility for evening training sessions, weekend matches and occasional events, as well as planning and coordination duties throughout the season. The proposed start date is 1 May, 2026.
