Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our high-performance
department. This role focuses on delivering best-practice return-to-play programs, speed development initiatives,
and supporting the lead S&C coach with tailored programs for positional groups. The successful candidate will play
an active role in both gym-based and on-field sessions.

Main tasks & Responsibilities:

• Return-to-Play: Take the lead on the physical aspects of return-to-play programming, collaborating closely
with medical and performance staff to ensure seamless reintegration of athletes following injury.
• Speed Development: Design and implement cutting-edge speed and acceleration training strategies to
enhance performance across all positional groups.
• Programming: Work under the guidance of the Head of Strength and Conditioning to deliver, monitor, and
evolve S&C programs.
• Coach: Contribute to gym and field-based S&C sessions across the squad, ensuring high standards of physical
preparation.
• Collaboration: Collaborate proactively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including medical, coaching,
performance analysis, and nutrition staff.
• Team First: Foster a positive, professional, and supportive environment that aligns with Leicester Tigers' Club
culture.
• Mentorship: Actively support and mentor junior S&C coaches and interns, fostering a culture of excellence
and continuous learning.

Education / Training: (E=Essential D=Desirable)

• Degree or equivalent in Physical Education or Exercise and Sports Science (E)
• Post-Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in physical education or exercise and sports science (D)
• Significant experience in an athletic performance (Strength & Conditioning) position within an
elite/professional sports environment (Rugby is preferable). (E)
• Knowledge around the profiling and screening of athletic qualities (E)
• Excellent knowledge and programming skills around injury risk reduction (relative to the demands of rugby),
and end-stage return to perform/play criteria (relative to injury type). (E)
• Excellent coaching and programming skills around the development of plyometric ability, linear speed
(sprinting), multidirectional speed (COD/Reactive Agility), and Rugby specific movement skill integration; (E)
• Excellent coaching and programming skills around the development of general and specific strength and
power (E)
• Recognised certification in S&C related competence (e.g., NSCA, UKSCA, ASCA, etc.); (D)
• Excellent computer literacy skills (D)
