At Leicester Tigers, we are excited to announce that an opportunity has opened up to work within our Medical and Academy provisions as The U18 Physiotherapist.
The primary aim of the role is to co-ordinate and provide the physiotherapy provision for the U18 age group and manage down with the Junior Academy Programme but also manage up with the Transition Group Squad.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Providing Physiotherapy cover to the above-mentioned squads; including assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and onward referral as required.
• Employ evidence-informed practice during treatment aligned with objective return to play markers following standardised RTP pathways for key injuries.
• Providing pitch-side emergency care for training sessions/games as instructed by line manager.
• Providing appropriate education to above-mentioned squads.
• Maintaining accurate and up to date notes on Kitman Labs in-line with the RFU Minimum standards.
• Ensuring players in above mentioned squads have had appropriate medical screening prior to joining.
• Assisting with the medical provision of other squads as required. This may include the senior transition group and First Team squads.
• Adapting and improving the medical provision to best suit the needs of the above-mentioned squads within the limits of the role.
• Carrying out any other duties and tasks required by management, which are within the post-holder’s capabilities.
• To lead/oversee the logistical planning and scheduling of clinics and rehabilitation sessions on a weekday evening conveying information to other members of the MDT.
• To deputise for the Head of Academy Medical in their absence, taking responsibility for the operational management of the department, allocating, organising and coordinating workload.
• To act as an integral member of the MDT disseminating relevant information regarding players in a timely manner.
• Assisting the Head of Academy Medical in supporting/mentoring the junior academy staff member in their development.
• Providing physiotherapy services at both the training ground as well as within relevant school institutions.
• To liaise with relevant members of host schools regarding any injured players and providing clarity on plans in place.
