The Role:
Leicester Tigers are excited to announce that an opportunity has opened up to join the medical work-stream of our Physical Performance Department, as a Head of Academy Medical.
The primary focus of the role will be to provide medical support to the Leicester Tigers Transition Group that are training with the Senior Programme or on loan and Manage the Leicester Tigers Academy medical staff and work with the Head of Academy Athletic Performance.
The successful candidate will also join a strong team of medical practitioners, with a wealth of experience between them. You will be expected to contribute towards this growing knowledge base, assisting in the development of junior staff, and providing an innovative approach to challenging and developing current practices.
Reporting directly to the Club’s Head of Medical and the Head of Academy, the successful candidate will lead the physiotherapy and medical management of the Academy Squad’s with daily responsibility of the Transition Group. They will plan the implementation of injury prevention strategies, as well as assess, treat, and rehabilitate those injuries that do occur.
As well as providing pitch-side cover for Transition Group and Premiership Cup matches, the post-holder will play a key role in liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including international teams and loan clubs where required.
As and when necessary, the post holder will also assist in the day-to-day running of the wider medical work-stream, including the provision of medical support to the First-Team Squad when needed.
