The home of football in Lancashire. We love football. We live football. This is the people's game. So we never forget that we are here for football people.
Lancashire FA is looking for four Independent Non-Executive Directors with expertise in Finance, Health, Human Resources and Law. Could you help us make football in Lancashire a game for everyone?
Football is about so much more than what happens on the pitch. It brings communities together, supports health and wellbeing, creates opportunities and changes lives.
At Lancashire FA, we're passionate about making football safe, inclusive and accessible to everyone. We're now inviting four new Independent Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and help shape the future of the game across Lancashire.
This is an exciting time to get involved. As we deliver our ambitious 2024–28 strategy, Join the Journey, and prepare for significant changes across football, we're looking for people who can bring fresh perspectives, professional expertise and constructive challenge to our Board.
Who are we looking for?
We're seeking four individuals with senior-level expertise in:
• Finance: To become our Board Finance Lead, providing financial expertise, oversight and constructive challenge to support the organisation's financial sustainability, governance and risk management, and serving as a member of our Finance, Audit, Risk and Investment Committee.
• Health: To help us strengthen football's contribution to physical and mental wellbeing, build meaningful partnerships across Lancashire's health and community sectors and influence wider health priorities and decisions to champion football's role in improving health outcomes.
• Human Resources: To bring expertise in people, culture and organisational development, helping us support our people and navigate future change.
• Law: To provide legal and governance expertise, helping the Board make informed decisions and manage organisational risks.
Alongside your specialist expertise, we're looking for people with sound judgement, integrity, a collaborative approach and the confidence to ask questions, challenge constructively and contribute to important strategic decisions.
The experience and perspective you bring are important, alongside your commitment to our values of Teamwork, Integrity and Caring, and your belief in the positive difference football can make to communities. We will provide a structured induction, training and ongoing development to help you succeed.
What does the commitment involve?
These are voluntary, unpaid positions, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. Directors are appointed for an initial three-year term.
The commitment is approximately one to two days per month, including six Board meetings each year, relevant Committee meetings, preparation and development activities. Meetings are generally held in the evening, either in person or virtually.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to influence decisions that affect football across Lancashire, work alongside an experienced and committed Board and Executive team, and make a lasting contribution to the communities we serve.
