fundraising team, third party suppliers, and our many partners.

Purpose of the role

The Marketing & Communications Manager at Greenhouse Sports is a senior role – we need to amplify our voice, reach new audiences and generate new channels of support. You’ll bring a critical approach to our every move, whilst getting on and making things happen to take Greenhouse forward - in service of young people and their futures.

We’re entering a pivotal moment as a charity at the forefront of youth development. Our strengthened brand, evolving narrative, growing footprint in national conversations, and the relaunch of the Greenhouse Centre in Westminster will all drive forward our ambition to support as many futures as possible. And our brand needs to be bold, unifying and impossible to ignore.

You’ll act as strategic anchor for all public-facing communications. You’ll define, protect and continually sharpen Greenhouse’s narrative, ensuring we show up consistently, confidently and creatively across every channel.

And you’ll lead our communications strategy, shape national-level campaigns, and elevate our presence with media, influencers, partners and policymakers, ensuring our message positions Greenhouse at the front of positive youth development.

This is both a thinking and doing role. You will set direction, coach others, build processes and systems, and roll up your sleeves to deliver high-quality content, briefs, speeches, and moments that move people to give money, time or influence.

It’s ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategic communications, brand stewardship, storytelling, influence-building and campaign leadership.

Key responsibilities

1. Brand leadership & narrative

Own and evolve the Greenhouse brand narrative, message house and tone of voice. Ensure message discipline across internal and external platforms.
Develop talking points and story arcs that build credibility and emotional connection.

2. Campaign development

Lead end-to-end development of major campaigns (brand, fundraising, advocacy, Centre moments), including our 25th anniversary milestone in 2027.
Shape briefs, guide creative development and drive cross-team alignment.
Champion youth-led and coach-led storytelling; develop signature creative assets.

Build a recognisable, distinctive Greenhouse brand presence across the year.

3. Media, influence & reputation

Lead the organisation’s media strategy in partnership with agency support.
Shape op-eds, speeches, articles and reactive commentary for the CEO and senior team. Build relationships with journalists, influencers, and key voices in youth development. Ensure Greenhouse shows up in the right national, community and policy conversations. Oversee crisis comms and reputation management protocols (with agency support).

4. Content, creative standards and internal alignment

Set the overarching content strategy and annual comms plan and oversee quality, tone and accuracy of all public content across owned channels.
Equip the whole organisation to tell our story: toolkits, FAQs, decks, briefs, training.
Ensure all internal communications reinforce our mission, values and voice.

6. Collaboration & leadership

Line-manage and mentor communications and content colleagues.
Work closely with Fundraising team to shape co-designed parter communications, donor journeys, product storytelling and conversion assets.
Collaborate with Impact team to ensure our evidence and brand reinforce one another.
Manage agency relationships (PR, design/creative) and ensure value for money.
Partner with senior stakeholders to prepare for major moments.
