Goalball UK is looking for two new Non-Executive Directors to join its Board of Trustees and help shape the next stage of its development. We are particularly interested in people with senior experience in finance and financial oversight, or in income generation and charity fundraising.
The Role
These are voluntary roles offering the chance to use your experience to strengthen Goalball UK, support the growth of the sport and make a real difference to blind and partially sighted people. Non-Executive Directors provide independent oversight and constructive challenge, working with fellow trustees and the senior leadership team to support good decision-making and effective governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an independent perspective and constructive challenge on strategic decisions, risk management and organisational performance
- Chair Board committees as required, depending on your knowledge and experience
- Champion good governance and high standards of ethical conduct
- Safeguard the interests of players, members, staff, funders and the wider goalball community
- Take part in Board training and development activities
About You
- Senior experience in either finance and financial oversight (scrutinising accounts, budgets and cashflow forecasts, and challenging external auditors) or income generation and charity fundraising
- Experience in governance, strategic thinking and leadership
- A genuine commitment to empowering blind and partially sighted people through sport
- A passion for inclusivity and excellence in sport
