An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our medical team. Due to recent expansion of our academy system and internal promotion we are delighted to advertise the full-time role of Assistant Junior Academy Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our performance team in delivering medical care to the players who will one day be the future of our club. Key Accountabilities
Describe the key deliverables to be achieved by the post holder and the ongoing responsibilities of the role.
• Lead and deliver the medical provision for the U16 age group in line with the Gloucester Rugby Medical Department & Gloucester Rugby Academy standards and structure.
• Assist with the medical service delivery to the DPP and on occasion the U17 and U18 players.
• In collaboration with key stakeholders within the Medical Department & Academy, ensure relationships are maintained and content/messages are aligned.
• Effectively manage and liaise with key stake holders including parents/ guardians, international medical teams, schools and universities.
• To regularly deliver injury updates in meetings with both Medical and Academy staff.
• Use excellent clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis and management of injuries.
• Be an exceptional individual and become a proven team player within the Gloucester Rugby Medical and wider Rugby departments.
• Liaise closely with the Junior Academy therapist to ensure that Coaching and Strength & Conditioning staff receive accurate daily information regarding the injury status of all players under your care.
• Provide pitch side trauma cover for all training and matches for the U16 and U18 squads (all 18s and 17s games).
• Ensure appropriate Doctor and Paramedic provision is arranged for all qualifying U16 fixtures.
• Alongside other members of academy medical staff, ensure all junior academy medical equipment is adequately stocked, properly maintained and fit for purpose.
• Maintain contemporaneous and detailed clinical notes on all aspects of injury management using the Kitman Labs intelligence platform, in line with CSP and RFU minimum standards.
• Plan and implement personalised rehabilitation plans for all athletes under your care.
