Glasgow Life is looking for Glasgow Life Assistants (Pool Lifeguards) to join its Sports Operations team.
The Role
Glasgow Life is a charity whose vision is to improve the lives of everyone in the city through culture and sport. Reporting to the Duty Manager, you will help keep swimmers and visitors safe while delivering excellent customer service and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the pool and changing areas and respond to emergencies
- Assist with activities and events
- Support reception, including bookings, enquiries and welcoming customers
- Help with venue routines and opening and closing procedures
- Complete all training needed to maintain your qualifications
About You
- A current Pool Lifeguard qualification (e.g. STA or NPLQ), or willing to attend an STA Pool Lifeguard course
- A confident, competent swimmer able to pass the lifeguard swim test
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A team player who puts safety first
- Proficient literacy and numeracy

- Locations: Bellahouston, Gorbals, Maryhill, Springburn, Scotstoun and Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow
- Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week over 5 days from 7, on a three-week rota)
- Salary: £26,233.14 – £27,837.09 (Grade 3), expected to rise to £28,579.50 – £30,094.25 from April 2027
