PURPOSE

This role provides an exciting opportunity to support safe delivery of cricket as part of our Inspiring Generations Strategy. As Health and Safety Manager at the ECB you will be responsible for managing the occupational health and safety of ECB employees and contractors, whether this is at our places of work or at major cricket events.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Developing and delivering the ECB Health and Safety Management System, including:
    • Creating policies and procedures to manage risk profiles of departments across the ECB
    • Delivering the role of Competent Person, providing specialist health and safety advice across the company.
    • Working with teams and leaders across the business, including in our People Team, Facilities, Events, and Professional and Recreational Cricket.
    • Reporting to senior management and the Board on health and safety performance and improvement.
  • Working with the ECB Events Team and partner venues to deliver safe cricket events. This will include working with our partners and suppliers in broadcast, spectator experience and commercial activations, including on site at major cricket matches.
  • Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our network where they deliver cricket to provide health and safety support to Professional Cricket Clubs, Recreational Cricket Board and cricket organisations on an advisory basis including maintaining and updating our advisory tools for cricket clubs.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • A deep understanding of strategic Health and Safety Management and will be qualified to at least NEBOSH diploma level.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of operational Health and Safety preferably within a sports environment.
  • Experience of delivering live events safely.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work in one-to-one and one-to-many situations with a wide range of people from volunteers to senior executives.
  • The ability to act as a trusted advisor in the best interest of the organisation and people you are supporting.
  • The ability to communicate appropriate, practical guidance for our network of cricket organisations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of:o Health & Safety Legislationo Managing health and safety including health and safety systemso SSIP and managing contractor health and safety
