PURPOSE

The role will support the management & delivery of all ECB Domestic Recreational Competitions.

This role is seen as critical to support the increased competition management workload across the Domestic Cricket Operations Department.

The role has a direct impact on business success by:

  • Providing a quality competition experience at all levels and tiers of cricket
  • Positively impacting its own team and ECB departments.
  • Supporting achievement of Inspiring Generations outcomes including the continued development and progress of Women’s & Girl’s cricket.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Support the co-ordination of an aligned playing calendar across all relevant competitions
  • Where relevant, facilitate and co-ordinate entries through positive relationships with Clubs & Counties creating an appropriate fixture schedule for each specific competition.
  • Support organisation of the Academy fixture schedule.
  • Support day to day management of recreational competitions including use of Play-Cricket.com and Who’s The Umpire platforms.
  • Support co-ordination and management of hotel requirements and bookings for competition Finals.
  • Where relevant, Match Manage Finals with direct responsibility for the co-ordination and management of all aspects on & off the field.
  • Support and work within the agreed Domestic Cricket Operations Departmental budget.
  • Where relevant, liaison with the Officiating Department to ensure all competitions have relevant officials appointed and supporting the facilitation of feedback on umpire performance.
  • Develop relationships with relevant external organisations i.e. Counties and Clubs, Teams, Finals venues and stakeholders.
  • Support the wider Domestic Cricket Operations Department output and objectives across Professional and Recreational Cricket.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • A demonstrable ability to be able to communicate clearly and effectively – both in writing and orally with people at all levels of the game 
  • Excellent organisational, time-management and prioritisation and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency in digital tools, and a willingness to learn platforms such as Play-Cricket.com and Who’s The Umpire.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt
  • Strong team first collaborative approach to the achievement of the Department’s objectives .
  • Good all-round IT skills.
  • A demonstrable knowledge and awareness of cricket to be able to liaise and communicate with players, coaches and management.
  • The ability to stay calm and organised under pressure, particularly during busy competition periods or matchdays.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel, particularly around Finals and key events.
  • Driving licence would be desired.
