Trailfinders Women is an ambitious and progressive, rugby union team based in West-London playing in the Premiership Women’s Rugby.
This is an opportunity to join Trailfinders during a very exciting period of the Club’s history.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will lead the medical strategy and service delivery for the Women’s first-team players.
Co-ordinating a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will lead the planning and implementation of gold standard practices to optimize the medical team performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To lead, structure and manage the medical provision for the Trailfinders Women’s programme. This will include being accountable for the Women’s Physiotherapist as well as the Women’s Lead Academy Therapist.
• Provide evidence-based assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prehabilitation programmes for women’s players.
• Provide diagnostic and prognostic evaluations of player injuries, communicating this information and readiness to train/selection status directly to the Head Coach.
• Accurately triage and coordinate onward referrals for imaging diagnostics and consultations as necessary.
• Lead the multi-disciplinary team through multi-faceted, objective criteria based stages of rehabilitation. This will include the organisation of individual player case conferences and multi-disciplinary team progress meetings.
• Lead the pitch-side provision for Women’s first-team matches and training sessions as required.
• Attend all staff meetings as directed by the Head Coach.
• To act as the programme’s ‘Clinical Governance Lead’ responsible for ensuring compliance with the RFU and PWR Minimum Standards.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all aspects of physiotherapy treatment, injury management and rehab content in keeping with HCPC & CSP, and RFU regulations.
• Ensure appropriate ongoing player care via effective communication and feedback processes with other professionals, e.g. England Rugby Red Roses medical team.
• Be an active contributor to the Performance (Sports Science and Medicine) team CPD programmes.
• Manage the medical provision of training and matches, ensuring cover is adequate at all times.
• Promote Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club, driving its reputation and standards at all times.
• Set a positive example as a senior employee.
• Consistently contribute positively to the team environment and culture.
• Be a strong consistent example of all the Club’s values and vision.
• Ad hoc duties as requested by the Club's Head of Medical Services and senior management.
• Continue to develop your skills and knowledge.

THE PERSON

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

• Extensive experience of working within a medical team in elite sport.
• Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams in elite sport.

DESIRABLE

• Extensive experience of working within an Elite rugby union setting.
• Experience of working across a variety of Elite sporting backgrounds.
• Experience of working with female athletes.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

• Chartered Physiotherapist.
• CSP registered.
• HCPC registered.

DESIRABLE

• Valid Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS) Level 3 trauma qualification or equivalent. Please note: Valid qualification/exemption would be mandatory before start date of this role.
• MSc in related field e.g. Sports and Exercise Medicine, Sports Physiotherapy, Strength and Conditioning.

• Excellent communicator with an outstanding ability to collaborate and a strong sense of emotional intelligence.
• An individual with a passion for empowering others and an open mind to innovation.
• Extensive evidence- based knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, treatment of sports injuries.
• A strong understanding of High-Performance Rehabilitation.
• A strong understanding of Injury Prevention strategies within Rugby Union.
