Derby County are seeking to recruit a HR Assistant to join the Human Resources Department at Pride Park Stadium.

We’re looking for an organised and proactive HR Assistant to join our busy HR team on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months, providing maternity cover.
Working closely with the Senior HR & Payroll Assistant, you’ll provide day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, employee changes, absence, learning and development and payroll administration.
This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same, so you’ll need excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a genuine passion for providing a great HR service. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with HR experience who is looking to broaden their knowledge and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of HR activities.
Key Role Responsibilities:
• Supporting employees throughout the employee lifecycle, from joining the Club through to contractual changes and leavers.
• Coordinating recruitment and onboarding, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, communicating with candidates and completing pre-employment checks.
• Preparing contracts, letters and other HR documentation, ensuring everything is accurate and completed on time.
• Supporting the administration of employee absence, keeping records up to date and helping to coordinate referrals and correspondence.
• Supporting learning and development, including arranging training, maintaining records and monitoring mandatory training.
• Assisting the Senior HR & Payroll Assistant with monthly payroll administration, collating and checking employee and payroll changes.
• Helping to manage our HR inboxes, responding to routine queries and ensuring employees and managers receive a helpful and responsive service.
• Providing administrative support with employee relations matters, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation and taking accurate notes.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is kept up to date.
• Producing routine HR reports and information and supporting the wider HR team with projects and initiatives.
• Building positive working relationships across the Club and helping us to continually improve our HR processes and employee experience.
Personal characteristics and experience:
• Previous experience working within an HR or People environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with the confidence to use initiative.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• A positive and collaborative team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Good IT skills, with experience of using Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Qualifications:
Essential
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
• CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, or working towards an equivalent HR qualification or working towards.
Salary is competitive, dependent on experience.
The role is based across Pride Park Stadium and Moor Farm Training Ground, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
The role is fixed-term for up to 12 months, covering Maternity Leave.
