Charlton Athletic are looking for a Loans Manager to help turn the right loan move into a defining step in a player’s development.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Individual Development and working closely with the First Team Manager, Managing Director and Academy Manager, you will support the club’s loan strategy, connecting the men’s first team, U21s and academy programmes. You will identify suitable players and host clubs, support negotiations, and be each player’s main point of contact while they are away.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify players who would benefit from a loan and assess potential host clubs in the UK and overseas
- Work with Football Operations on negotiations and regulatory compliance
- Act as the main point of contact for players on loan
- Track progress through match attendance, training-ground visits and individual reviews using video and data
- Work with host clubs and Charlton’s coaching, medical, performance and Player Care teams
- Advise on recalls, extensions and next steps, and keep accurate loan records and reports
About You
- Experience in professional football, ideally in player development, recruitment or loans
- A strong understanding of player development and football regulations
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Comfortable using video and performance data
- Able to travel extensively and work evenings and weekends
